The Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) continues to deliver premier customer service and transform its branches into a one-stop government shop, delivering convenient, customer-focused services in one location. Earlier this year, MVA Administrator Chrissy Nizer joined Maryland Department of Veterans and Military Families (DVMF) Secretary Ed Rothstein for a ribbon cutting celebrating the opening of a new Veterans Service Office inside the Frederick MVA branch.
Veterans and their families visiting the Frederick branch can now connect directly with DVMF specialists who can help them navigate benefits and resources earned through military service. Specialists assist veterans and their family members with filing claims, identifying available programs and connecting them with federal and state benefits.
Frederick is the 10th co-located office within an MVA branch, expanding access to support and services in Western Maryland and demonstrating the state’s ongoing commitment to serving veterans and their families.
“We look forward to this new office supporting veterans and their loved ones throughout the county and the surrounding communities. The MVA is proud to support those who have served our country,” Administrator Nizer said. “These efforts reflect our responsibility to deliver on the premier customer experience honoring the courage, service and sacrifice of our military community.”
In 2025, more than 6,000 veterans and family members received assistance through DVMF services across Maryland, more than 3,000 of whom engaged with the agency inside of MVA branches. Through this partnership, veterans and their families secured more than $23 million in earned benefits.
MVA branches across Maryland make a range of government services more accessible and convenient through co-location, allowing Marylanders to take care of important tasks in one visit. In addition to increasing access to services for veterans and their families, Marylanders can access E-ZPass, TSA PreCheck enrollment, Department of Natural Resources and vital records at select MVA branches.
